Technology

McCurdy & Candler is committed to continually seek to improve upon its current internal systems in order to stay ahead of the technology curve and to take full advantage of all forms of electronic communication with the firm’s clients to ensure the quickest, most efficient and secure means of keeping clients abreast of the firm’s progress and performance.

The following are examples of McCurdy & Candler’s commitment to technology being an integral part of its practice and service to its clients:

  • Implementation of CaseAware’s case management and automated integration components which enable the firm to seamlessly communicate and update with the following systems used by several of its clients:
    • Process Management (LPS)
    • VendorScape
    • LenStar
    • Invoice Management (LPS)
    • IClear
  • Integration of an electronic documentation management system, along with 6 high speed copier/scanners, to facilitate the interconnectivity of the firm’s departments through online “paperless” files.  With the document management system, the departments share documents, emails, and faxes thereby reducing reliance on paper files and enabling anyone in the firm to quickly retrieve, view, print, upload (to clients’ or Bankruptcy Court websites) or transmit those items.
  • Automation of daily bankruptcy checks of the borrowers associated with the loans in foreclosure being handled by the firm against BANKO to help notify the firm’s clients of new bankruptcy filings as soon as possible.
  • Continuous investment in upgrading and enhancing the firm’s hardware and software to ensure that the firm stays ahead of the technology curve to support its clients’ needs for secure, real-time and efficient electronic transfer of information and documents.  This investment includes a significant purchase in 2005 of new servers, multiple battery backup and cooling units to provide redundancy, increased speed and system efficiencies, additional memory and file storage capacity and disaster recovery.
  • Utilization of a system monitoring service to assist in the periodic review and analysis of issues and needs, allowing the firm to be proactive in resolving and anticipating problems and future capacity and bandwidth enhancements
  • Utilization of 4 bonded T-1s and a single T-1 with different ISP’s together with special hardware to facilitate bandwidth load balancing and automatic failover of high speed Internet access.  Maintaining an uninterrupted, high speed connection to the Internet is a vital part of the firm’s client services as web applications have become central to the firm’s clients means of delivering referrals, receiving updates, communicating and transferring documents.
  • Creation of the firm’s website which offers the following for the firm’s clients:
    • Background and contact information about its practice and attorneys as well access to newsletters and articles that provide useful and timely information for its clients
    • Secure foreclosure information for upcoming sales which is used by potential third party purchasers to ensure better exposure for a higher percentage of third party sales on sale day
    • Future enhancement - provide real time online access to individual case statuses, reports, and related document images for those clients who prefer to obtain such information directly from McCurdy & Candler’s website
